i get some kind of static crakling popping sound out of my speakers its not loud and i can live with it, but does anyone know how to fix this

i recently got my new pc, on the old pc everythign was fine but now i get the static stuff
i got onboard sound nvidia nforce 4 or somehtign or ac somehting audio
 
If you're using the same speakers that you used from the old computer, then chances are that the static noise is coming from the onboard sound on the new computer. I'm guessing that it's a cheap integrated solution, so there's not really much you can do to silence the static besides getting a decent soundcard.

It's also possible that the volume control in the OS is turned down, which makes you have to turn up the volume on the speakers. This can make noise more noticable.
 
hmm well if anyhting my onboard sound now is better than in my last pc
i had some shit HP computer with 1 input on my onboard sound

now i got a nice gigabyte board with like 8ch audio

and by the OS volume being low u mean in the volume control thing?
start/prog/acc/ent/vol cont?
