can someone explain sound stage to me
i have the sony mdr v600's what type of sound stage do they have?

Sound stage is a term used to describe the sense of direction and depth of speakers/headphones. So if you have a good set of headphones which those V6s aren't too bad you should be able to tell where instruments are playing and where they would be located if they were in the room with you. The same can be applied to games, with good sound stage you should be able to tell how far away someone is and what direction they are coming from.

Listen to a good orchestral recording with your eyes closed. You should be able to get a clear and distinct spatial impression of where, say the flute, violin, and cello sections are.

oh ok
thats what i thought it was so i'm geussing thsee headphones have decent sound stage cause sometimes i really do feel like i'm at a place listening live

but what makes the sound stage on the headphone like that?
its the actual padding, design of the frame, and how the headphone sits on ur ears right?
or is it the actual drivers ?

Mostly the detail of the drivers are what gives the nice soundstage. Although the design of the padding and everything do contribute some.
