I booted up my computer, opened Winamp. I got a drive corruption error, so I uninstalled the old drivers, and installed new ones from creative.com. The sound worked again however it plays very soft, I checked all the volumes and they are all the way up. I can hear it when I turn my speakers up high, but it is distorted (normally is'nt distorted at that volume). I plugged another pair of speakers, and they work fine, however it is in the digital out port instead of analog. I plugged my MP3 player into my Klipsch's and the sound from that is perfect. I tried even more drivers, after I found my driver install CD. No hope.. they all do the same thing. So i figure from that, it must be a hardware related problem dealing with the card's analog ports. However, I was wondering if someone else might have a solution that wont involve RMA'ing the card, I am going to fiddle with it some more tommorrow before considering that though. Any setting, or anyone else have this problem? Advice is badly needed. HELP!

Try using Drivercleaner to remove all of the current drivers ... and reinstall them.
Barring that, try moving the card to another PCI slot.
Sounds like it's time for a reformat but you might was well exhaust all of the alternatives first.

Eep.. this isnt good... I have reformated, and reinstalled drivers. No luck, I guess I will call up creative tomorrow and give them a call, unless someone has some fix, maybe a setting or somthing that is set wrong. Otherwise I think my soundcard is history...

It's a very long shot (probably isn't even the problem) but try re-seating the card on your motherboard. Pull the card right out and then put it back in.
If that doesn't work, maybe try it in a different slot.
Other than that i'd say it's a defective card without a doubt.

I tried taking off any dust, reseating, and trying to blow out the analog slots to make sure no dust got in there. Looks like creative will get a call tommorrow. I pretty much took out reseating for one reason, it was detecting the card, and playing it, but very softly. So it was being sent. Only problems would be soundcard, speakers, or drivers. I just ruled out the speakers after doing some additional troubleshooting. So either way its creatives problem, and soundcard related. RMAing will be a pain in the $#@. I have bad luck, I just got my videocard back 3 weeks ago from ATi due to memory dying on the card. *sigh*
Ok, I fixed the problem, and I am now so happy because I dont have to call creative and RMA. For some reason my 3.3V rail was off by a HUGE margin, over 15% at times. I was quite confused since Antec promises only 3% error margin. When I started hearing a beep from asus probe I was quite dissapointed, because my ps and card dont work , however I opened up my case, reinserted the 24pin cable into the motherboard trying to blow out any dust to make sure no interferance happens. After, I did that my rail shot right back up to almost exactly 3.3V. I was curious that maybe my soundcard wasnt getting the proper power to output the information, plugged back in my speakers, and now they work fine.
