sound lacking in ... something? (vista only)

hey,

Ever since i upgraded my sound for music (but not games) has been lacking something. It's hard to explain what exactly it's lacking but it is certainly very different to what i was used to on xp. My headset is a usb "plantronics gamecom 1 pro" and used to have excellent sound but i guess vista drivers are rubbish and its now bad sound.

Would buying something like a razer barracuda sound card and headset improve on my listening quality and fill that lacking feeling? i have heard the razer sound card is superb. What's anyone else's view on this?

No sound card will do anything for usb headphones.

^Agreed, unless your soundcard has a front panel with a USB port.

nononono... sorry i stated the question bad. If i were to get a new sound card it would be something like the Razer Barracuda with the Barracuda headphones aswell!!
