Alright, i have an Antec Sontata case and the front audio port died, i took the card out and fount out the aduio port was loose, the bottom of it wasnt touching th medal reciver which broke... i thoguuht, okay, no problem... so i plugged my head phones into the back audio port but i can only hear stuff out of my right headphone, not the left. what is up with that?

yeah, realtek ac97

what do you mean by install the jumpers

im not too worried about the front audio port cause thats a total loss almost, but the back audio port bugs me, only one side has sound.

whats the other 7 wires at the bottom?

Most onboard audio solutions require jumpers to make the connectors on the back of the board worky.
Are you sure the phones are plugged in all of the way? ;)

whats the other 7 wires at the bottom?

When in doubt RTM

Audio Connections
There is an Intel standard 10-pin connector (with also 7 individual wires with
individual connectors) attached to a gray wire leading from the front panel
speaker and microphone connectors. If your motherboard supports Intel's standard
onboard audio connector, you can plug the 10-pin connector directly onto the
board. For non-Intel standard audio connections, you will need to plug the 7
individual connectors into the motherboard.

can i just get a new sound card?
Sure you can.... you don't even have to ask us for permission. :D

You sure the phones are not the problem?

yeah, i tested with some speakers, same problem

Also, when i get the new sound card, when i disable my on board, its this one right?

Hot Audio Deals -> sticky in this forum.ANd yes, the sound card *should* be better than the onboard stuff, especially if it is a HW sound card, not host-based, like the Realtek AC97 implementation, which basically uses your CPU cycles.
