sound dampener like dynamat

I've been searching around and people have called dynamat "mass loader" because it adds weight to the panel does making it harder to vibrate.

does that mean for small speakers (like those included in in logitech sets), I can use blu tack?

From memory, blu tack is a much lighter compound, but it is bound to make some difference.
