Ok I have a Gateway sound card. I dont know who makes it but i went to gateway and try to download there drivers to get it working but it wont install. I am giving up hope on this sound card. So I was wonder what other sound card that is cheap and that will work with Windows Xp Pro. I dont need a high tech one. I just want some sound.
Thanks
Anthony

If quality isn't a concern, head over to Best Buy and get whatever cheap POS sound card says that it will work in Windows XP.

or, you could get a nice Sound Blaster Audigy 2 for you pre-built box and start the never ending process of upgrading your pc.

It's not cheap, or expensive, but I got a turtle beach sante cruz from buy.com for $36. If you don't want anything more than onboard, you'd probably do best at buy.com or zipzoomfly. I think I've seen some sort of cheap audigy something-or-the-other for $20 at a few retail places
