sound card windows problem

I installed an xfi extreme music sound card and ever since then my computer freeezes for a few seconds when i close an application closest to the start menu... driver problem or is it something else (limited power for psu?)
 
for ne 1 with an x-fi sound card i recommend not installing the tray icon for sound management. it creates a whole bunch of probs
