Sound card uping ping?

Hi, my friend was using on board sound. then he gets a sound card, and now he says since he installed it his ping is 50% better. do you think the sound card had anything to do with it? i dont. he has this mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128015

I guess if he had a shitty cpu it's possible.

More likely the onboard-sound and network controller were stepping on each others toes.

Even more-likely it's a coincidence.
