I'm looking for a reasonably priced sound card for an Athlon 64 system. Don't need all the bells and whistles of the more pricey cards. The Audigy 2 looks good, but I've heard issues about install and whatnot. Their drivers suck too.

What are the alternatives?
 
how much you looking to spend? what kind of speakers do you have? what do you use it for?
 
when i had a desktop i had a santa cruz and i loved it... though i'm slightly biased since i don't like creative lab's...
