i'm basically looking for the best sound card i can get that will suit my needs for under $100. however, i need something that will sound good with my logitech z-2300s in my dorm and my polk audio 2.1 stereo setup at home. as expected my home setup runs through a receiver which is connected to my onboard sound.
 
Gaming? I'd say an Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtrememusic.
Music only> Chaintech av-710, great 2.1 output in high res mode. and only $20
