I have an abit ip35-pro and am using on board sound. I was noticing sound sound issues every once in a while playing cod4mp so I'm looking into getting a new sound card.

Is there any real benefit going to pcie for a sound card? My last was a CL SB audigy xtreme gamer(pci), it was like $99.99, I wasn't too impressed. I may just opt for the 26.99 SB regular audigy. Any suggestions?

First try putting the X-Fi in your other computer just to see if it will fix your sound issues. If it does, you might want to try buying a refurbished X-Fi from Creative for $70. Or you can wait (they don't have any in stock atm) and see you if you want to pick up a refurbished Audigy 2 ZS for $40.

The box with the audigy xtreme gamer was my old box, a 4ghz 939 sli rig that I gave to my friend who was still using a 700mhz dell, so I dont have the sound card anymore.

Thanks for the tip on the oem refurbs, i'll check that out.

I am still wondering about pcie advantages over pci if there is any

make sure, you do not get a xtreme audio if you do. you will want to shoot your self. Make sure its a XTreme music/Gamer.

I had an Creative Audigy SE for $30 at the egg. It couldn't really tell a difference and I just sold it yesterday on ebay for $25 after having it for a few months. Go big or go home :)

I plan on getting this One Creative X-Fi Gamers card that's around $80 (sale) on newegg. I'm to busy to find a link for you but it's a topseller and for $80 so you do the searching.
