I built my system(in my sig) a couple of weeks ago and it's working like a charm. The problem is, I can't get my soundcard to work. I've tried removing and replacing it several times, uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and lots of other things, but it's not recognizing it. It does show up in my Device Manager but when I go to "Sounds and Audio Devices" in the Control Panel, it doesn't show up in the drop-down list. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do next? I've already gone to the Turtle Beach webiste to check for updated drivers but didnt find any.
BTW, this card worked fine on my last computer which was an AMD T-Bird 1GHz.

What version of XP are you using? If it's the 64 bit version you will need 64 bit drivers. Have you checked for mobo manufaturer site for updated mobo drivers?

if your motherboard has onboard sounds then youll need to disable it through the BIOS. i think that some older motherboards had this problem. same thing youd have to do if you had onboard video.

It's not the 64-bit XP. I bought it when it first came out. I checked the soundcard mfr's site for updated drivers but hadn't checked the mobo's site. It's a brand new Gigabyte K8NS-Pro model and yes, it does have onboard sound. I hadn't thought of disabling it in the BIOS cause I'd never had problems on my last computer, but I guess I'll try that next. Will let ya know. Any other suggestions are appreciated.
