Sound Card Help

i dont think those are eax certified speakers i dont know if they will take the full advantage of the audigy to zs. they make eax certified 2.1 speakers i would look for those but depends on your budget. ive always heard a dedicated sound card is better then onboard sound not to mention onboard sounds usually burns more cpu cycles then a dedicated sound card. however i could be wrong and im sure someone will correct me if i am. :D
 
While not the best sound card out there for quality (like M-Audio's cards are), the Audigy 2 will be much better than that onboard sound. If you're gonna spend that much money and effort to get a good sound card, why not get a better speaker system (with 3, 4, 5 or 6 speakers) from a company like Klipsch (Promedia line) or Logitech?
 
those are nice. if you particular about sound most places like bb and cc ...frys......microcenter have speakers setups to listen to. but those are better then the one you posted earlier.

Forgo the soundcard and put that share of the money toward better speakers. Stay with the 2.1 sets. They don't start getting decent until they get above $100. Onboard sound is adequate if it means that you can get better speakers/headphones.
 
The point is that those speakers don't have enough performance.....they are gonna sound like crap no matter what the source is.
The rational is to spend the money on better speakers now and replace the onboard solution with a better soundcard at a later date. :)
 
Like GMC said, get some nice speakers/headphones first. Then later on, you can decide if a source upgrade would be suitable.
