Sound card dead?

We had a bad storm, knocked out power, now computer only makes static though the breakout box on my audigy 2 zs still seems to work(controls onscreen volume, charges ipod etc). Anyone think I've fried yet anothe piece of hardware or is there a fix?

Do you have a surge protector or ups?
