Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has heard any information about the release date for the ZXR? I would really like to get my hands on this piece of hardware.

Thx

Hi people,

A new year begins and I have some good news to announce!

Here's what I have for the release dates for the ZxR:

1) Europe: mid-Jan 2013

2) USA: mid-Jan 2013

3) Asia: early Jan 2013

Note: These are shipment dates, so do factor in a couple extra days for shipment, customs, retail etc.

You may also sign up for our mailer to keep up-to-date on this product.

Once again, my apologies for the delay. I would not post anything here if I didn't have the full information available.

Cheers!
Colin

Do you reckon the price on the Titanium HD will go down with the release of these new cards?

I saw a Titanium HD the other day at Microcenter. It was still expensive. I can't tell you how it will go in online channels but in normal retailers like Microcenter, TigerDirect, Fry's, etc. this is what will happen: They'll probably get discontinued by the manufacturer or even by the store (in that they won't buy anymore of them) rather than reduced in price. Old stock of them may face tough price cuts to get rid of the stock but that's about it. That's generally what happens to higher end hardware. It gets phased out by a different product. A store will only carry a couple of high end sound cards. Preferably from different vendors.

The Titanium HD 1270 were $100 brand new this week on Amazon. I checked just then and they are sold out.

I saw those in stock when I was ordering a Z. I couldn't bring myself to order anything that uses those old Creative drivers when the new Recon 3D+Z drivers are so nice. Some of those X-Fi cards are getting old and Creative won't support them forever.

If Creative updated the X-Fi drivers to use the new interface, I probably would have picked up the HD though. Right now the Z cards should be good for years of driver updates.

I wouldn't buy a Titanium HD or a Recon 3D.
Only the Z series from creative is where it's at if your going with a Creative solution.

The THD is having driver issues with Windows 8 and the Recon3D is way inferior compared to the Z series in terms of specs.

The Creative ZxR is on par with the Asus Essence STX, but I think it out does it as it supports full DTS, EAXHD and has analog 5.1 support with full digital out.

I'm just waiting for stock of the ZxR at my local canadacomputers so I don't have to pay for shipping and customs.

That was my thinking as well. If I were going to buy a Creative card it would definitely be the ZXR.

And hope it brings down all the old sound cards' price like asus and creative ;)

I like the idea of the volume knob with headphone inputs, but I'm curious to see if that affects sound quality running your headphones through the volume control vs. plugging directly into the headphone amp on the card itself.

was able to order one just now, it said available for shipment Feb 11 when I ordered.
