Sound Blaster z questions

Can someone explain this part of the control panel......the old control panels had a choice of pass thru to spdif or decode in the pc...i cant be the only person this control panel makes no sense.

if i select anything other than no encoder while watching a converted blueray it doesn't sound as good. I guess no encoder actually means it decodes the audio like in a movie in the drivers instead of sending it over optical or whatever. Am i understanding it correctly?

This in no way answers your question..but I don't even have the cinematic or advanced feature tabs listed! I'm using a ZXr.

Sounds like you used the cds that came in the box vs SBZ_CD_L13_1_00_22.exe that shows up at creative drivers as the newest released drivers. That would explain why you don't have some of the options in the control panel i have? Its a shame but if this were a video card question we would have 20 people lining up with answers, but hey thanks for responding
