i tried going thru the PSU FAQ but both the links to the PSU calculators are down...

long story short i am giving my old rig to a friend, specs:

AMD XP 2800
1 gig Corsair Valueram
DFI lanparty
ATI 9800 PRO (128mb)
2x60mm and 2x80mm case fans
200gig Seagate IDE
DVD-RW

i dont trust the PSU in there and want to put something else in there for him, i found a good deal on a 300 watt PSU and just want to make sure that will cover him.. He wont be doing much of anything except web surfing, wathcing movies etc...

I am sure it will be ok but I just want to make sure i dont screw him over... thanks for any input and apologize in advance if i could have found this somewhere else...

Get a quality unit, not a unit which is cheap. Cheap doesn't mean good.

Try the Xclio Goodpower 450. it's $39 at newegg.
