The two cases I'm considering are:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-125-458&depa=1
and this one:
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=11-125-444&catalog=23&manufactory=BROWSE

This will be for my first try at modding and mounting a WC setup. I'm going to mount the double heater core externally and on top of the case (I'm not planning on using air to exhaust from inside of the case through the heater core)

I was also considering mounting this res:
http://www.dangerden.com/mall/Misc_Hardware/round.asp
as well. I'd like to avoid butchering the insides as much as possible, and I'd like it to be somewhat transportable. I'm not set on having a res, but I've heard it helps for first timers.

Also, if I go with the res, should that be mounted externally as well, so that it is the highest point in the system? If so, would that mean the ideal routing (pump>rad>cpu>res>pump) would mean I'd have the tubing running from the pump at the bottom of the case to the radiator up top, then down to the cpu block and back out to the res, then down to the pump again?
How much of a difference would it make if the coolant were to flow from pump>cpu>rad>res>pump? Would it be a bigger performance hit than all the extra tubing?

I'm considering either a TDX or the latest Swiftech block and the swiftech pump, if that influences anything.

Thanks for your time.
Mike

I'd recommend the second larger server case. As for your order, I'd always suggest pump -> rad -> cpu -> (other, such as GPU) -> res -> pump. You always want your CPU to get the coolest water. Although, I dont think there will be a big difference if you use the order you suggested, perhaps in the order of 2 C or less. Just be sure to keep the res before the pump, so it can "prime" the pump and effectively remove air from the system.
