Greetings Everyone,

I have a problem with my digital camera and hoping someone can help. When I'am taking a picture at night, my LCD/viewfinder shows line that go top to bottem where lights are. (like when you squint at lights) The colour is white or light blue and they are about 1-3 pixel thick. When I looked at a street light (20feet away) it was about 5 or so pixels. If I spin the camera, the line stays in the same place on the screen but not with the light im looking at. I would figure it would be the in same place on the picture as the camera routes from me spinning it(maybe due to no tripod). Now im wondering if this is normal because when i take the shot, the light lines are not there. So is this just how light is reflecting on the lens or perhaps it's not functioning right? I did, exchange for another camera with the same result. The settings I tried were all modes on the dial and played with some of the picture options.

Everything else was fine but during the day i would get pink transparant shadow where light beems are going threw the window. They don;t show in pictures. Thanks.

got an example picture?

(probably the CCd dying).

I'm pretty sure it is just how light is reflecting within the lens. You have a very dark environment and you are pointing your camera at a bright light. You could expect the same if you pointed your camera at the sun during the daytime (not recommended). When you take a picture of this light, do you notice anything wrong with the photo?

Thanks for the replies,

modi123, the problem i'm having is only with the LCD and the viewfinder(display). I don't have another camera to show what it does. I tried to do a drawing in my post. It's having a light in a picture and having a line going from the top to the bottom of the LCD. How do you tell if the ccd is dieing? does it show in the pictures or just on the LCD screen at the back fo the camera?

MJCfromCT, Everything is perfect with the photo just the LCD/viewfinder im worried about). I was just wondering if the lines from the light were normal (go from the top to bottom of the screen). I wasn't focus on the light, but it's in the picture.

Thanks again for the replies.
