I just picked up a Sony mz-n707 MiniDisc player at a yard sale yesterday. 35 bucks new in box. Seems really cool, but the software doesnt allow digital copies of whats on the media to be copied to the computer. That seems a little odd as this device can record with a mic attached. I am wanting to use this thing in my classes and want to upload the audio in digital form to my pc. Has anyone found a way to do this or not? Thanks guys.

ps- i know that i can do it analog, but thats just going to take alot longer than uploading the recorded mp3. I searched all over the net for a solution and the only one i could find costs way to much money.

Well, currently there is no way at all to output digital audio through the USB port in that NetMD player - the only way to output anything at all from the NetMD unit is through the headphone out jack. (That is a hardware limitation of all current NetMD units.) And even if there is a way to output audio data through the USB connection, the player will only operate in real-time. So, if the recording is an hour long, it will still take an hour to transfer audio from the MD to the PC, even if the USB on the NetMD allows digital audio output.

So it can record faster than real time, but if it was possible to transfer to the pc from the MD it could only be done in real time? Just making sure ive got my facts straight. And thx for the responce.
