Is it just me or does that stand make the monitor look weird and ugly as hell? It's a good thing that the bezel is now much more narrow that it was on the HS94P but that stand... hmm, I don't know.
 
It's not just you....The curve at the bottom spoils the look for me. As well as the fact it comes down on both sides, rather than the middle. It's a shame too, because I think the Xbrite images look great.
 
1000:1 contrast sounds nice but the back light being 450 is insane. Anything past 200 is like looking at a flashlight.
 
Was checking out this monitor at Microcenter. It has one of the best displays I've seen in an LCD panel. The pictures make the stand look awkward but in person it looks much better. It is sleek and unobtrusive. But the picture really stands out. The backlight can be adjusted down to 150 all depending on your lighting conditions.

There's a $100 rebate at Best Buy right now but that still puts this monitor on the pricey side.

The $100 rebate is a sony rebate, so get it whereever for as cheap as you can! Both 94 and 95 have the rebate.

As for the stand, I like it in the 95, but functionally it was no for me, as the screen cannot point on a downward angle unless you proped its stand with a book under it (in the rear).
 
My immediate thought is that I think the 94P looks better when your eyes are level with about 1" from the top of the panel. If this model is tilted back, the colors might look really uneven for people who are looking slightly up at the monitor. Again, on my 94P, everything looks really dark at the top of the screen unless it's sitting a little lower than usual OR the screen is tilted slightly forward.
Can anyone compare this model to the 94P's? Is backlight bleeding still an issue at all?
 
In the store I compared them, and really I could not visually tell the difference...of course it was under the stores bright flouresmt lights, I didnt play and games or video either!
