Is sony a good cd-rw / dvd-rom maker? Are they reliable? What is your experience with a sony drive?

If not, who else would you recommend over sony?
 
Sony's non DVD-writer drives suck. Go with LiteOn. They're cheaper, and better.

If Sony's non DVD writer drives suck then so do Lite-On's, since newer Sony CDRW's are rebadged Lite-On's themselves. Sony CD burners are good, with reviews here
