Citing production difficulties, Sony Corporation announced the delay of its top selling racing game for a second time. The game was due to be released on November 2nd.

Sony is trying to attract casual gamers to PlayStation ahead of the year-end with its Move motion-controlled accessories, but needs offerings like Gran Turismo to retain the loyalty of core fans.

Repost? (Not being an ass and saying it's elsewhere in the forums, but how many times have we seen this post in the few months past lol)

It's something about getting copy protection done properly, this one division rolled out version 350 just as GT5 was about to gold master on version 341. Give your thanks to that Australian guy and whoever got him that firmware recovery USB stick. Thought November would see one good game come out.

Grand Turismo 5... Wasn't that supposed by a PS3 launch title and a direct contender to Forza 2 on X360 ? In meantime Forza 3 was released too and GT5 slowly transforms to PS3 final title :D.

Yes, and of all the straight up lies Sony delivered to their fan base, this was the worst.

XBOX 360 wouldn't have stood a chance if Sony hadn't thrown feces on their player base.

The pleasure of watching Sony fall on its face due to, largely, its own arrogance is only matched by the story of NVIDIA's last two years and, god willing, an upcoming Apple product.

wait... is this the 2nd delay this week? first was for a longer production time to implement the new firmware. is this a 2nd delay because they cant get enough time to print disks?

I think it was a PS2 title but it was cancelled and switched to PS3 instead.

They in last place due to the high price of the PS3 at launch and for years after. Not because of arrogance but im glad you can make such a non biased post.

The timing of the release of big blockbuster titles has stunk for consoles and has not been great since the N64 was new.

Launch titles have been dissappointing at best and console refreshes aren't often timed great either.

Wii should have had a Mario game at launch, right next to Zelda and Metroid. Super Mario Wii should have been with every Wii black console.

Halo 3 should have been a launch day title. The new X360 should have been delayed and launched the same day as and bundled with Halo Reach (along side the Special Reach console) and Kinect.

PS3 should have had a Final Fantasy launch (FF7 remake would have been epic to say the least) along with MGS4 and GT5.

PS3 slim should been launched and bundled with Little Big Planet, like the fathers day package.

I know developers experience delays all the time, but can u imagine the lineups if all these opinions were reality?

But hey, at least all these constant dissappointments in the console world help keep PC gaming alive.

GT5 is going to become the next duke forever ;) Good, because the internet needed a new "the shuttle launched in less time" joke.

irs rumored to have only been pushed to Nov 30 , but if anything still be released before year end..

Slight delay so they can cram in the update firmware feature to stick to those folks using the usb keys. Sucks, but with such a highly anticipated title it makes sense.

"The next generation doesn't start until we say it does,"

......yeah that isn't arrogance at all.
