I'm looking for a chair with a mesh seat and back. Typical cshioned chairs I find wear out over time and get hot if you're working for long periods. I've gone through a bunch.

Yes, there is the Aeron for $700 USD, as well as the AllSeating Fluid Chair, similarly expensive.

There's a version of the Fluid chair (6A) that doesn't have wheels or armrests and is essentially what I want. Just a basic chair with mesh instead of cushioning. This is harder to find than one might think.

Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives that would fit the bill (and the budget?). I'm wondering if outdoor stores would carry such a thing. Would prefer not to spend more than $150, but am open to hearing any ideas.
 
I have definitely seen mesh office chairs at the likes of Staples or Office Max or Office Depot, but they tend to be at a price premium compared to a normal chair. I would take a look at their websites.
 
The ones I've seen at Office Depot / Staples have had the mesh only on the back area, not on the seat. I poked around the Canadian sites yesterday and didn't see anything new - I'll try stopping by a store to see if they've got something different now though.
 
There is a mesh chair that I have I bought from Wal-Mart that is pretty good. I've had it for a couple years now, no problems whatsoever.
 
Okay, will stop by Walmart today as well. Is it more of a housewares type chair or did you find it amongst the office / desk chairs?

Office/Desk chairs. Nice and comfy for small cost :D
