I have had the 6800 gt (@415/1150) for almost a week now and I have been very happy with it. When I read Anand's article about CPU scaling in Doom 3 and read this page with the comparison of amd and intel chips, it got me thinking:

My benchmarks on my setup at 1280x1024 at ultra+ speeds and with my XP-M clocked at 2.5 ghz was 67.5 fps which falls between the XP3200+ (2.2ghz) and the P4 3.0C on Anand's second chart (1280x1024). This does not make any sense to me. I would think that my fps would fall somewhere near the top (80+ fps). Certainly it should be significantly higher than the XP 3200+ at 2.2 ghz. In this article at bit-tech, an overclocked XP-M at 2.5 ghz (and 200x12.5 like mine) was close in performance to a A64 FX-53:

I understand that the A64s and Prescotts have much more memory bandwidth but did not think it had that big of an impact.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be going on? Did Anand optimize somehow? I have unistalled drivers in safe mode, used cleaner driver 3, etc. Might I have something setup wrong in bios or in video card properties. Wasn't there a optimization setting that was off by default with nvidia drivers and needed to be activated. What about trilenear vs. bilinear. Where can this be changed.
Can anybody out there with a similar setup (with 6800 GT at ultra speeds and xp at 2.4 - 2.5ghz) give me your benchmarks to compare with?
67.5 fps Doom 1280x1024 high setting noAF/noAA @415/1150

Vsinc is off. running 61.77 drivers.
Please help and THANKS!
