something weird with gpu temp

Hey, I have a gtx280, overclocked to 702/1450/2500 on stock cooling and something weird happens. When i start up crysiswars for the first time, the temperature will go up to around 67C on 100% fan speed after about 10 min of gaming, causing very very slite artifacting maybe once every 3 minutes. However, if i shut down the game, and immediately restart it again, the temperature doesnt go past 60C even after 10 minutes of play.

Can anyone figure this out??? :confused:
 
How are you overclocking? The only thing I can think of is that your are running a program to set the overclock, open / close the game and that somehow triggers the card goes back to factory default settings??? Either that or the extra fan speed at the start has cooled the card / interior enough so that it doesn't ramp up the heat so much next time.
 
im overclocking using rivatuner, and checking the hardware monitor, the clock speeds haven't resetted to factory speeds.
