I was going to sell my inspiron 9300 and i called dell to tell them ;). They called back saying that since i wasnt happy theyd upgrade me for free to the e1705 with basically the same specs. Prolly dual core though. My question is, should i take the laptop or go with the original plan i had of getting a desktop custom rig even though its $1500 + monitor (which i can try asking them for one).

Heres the specs of my current lappy:

1.86ghz pentium m
6800go
WUXGA screen
60gb 7200rpm drive
dvd rom/cdrw
xp home
1280mb ram
The specs of the e1705

1.66 dc
WUXGA screen
100gb 5400 rpm
dvdrom/cdrw
xp media center
2gbram
either that integrated graphics crap or the 7800 go (im not sure

The custom desktop $1500 (will oc ;))

x2 3800+
xp home
dfi ultra nf4 infinity
74 gig raptor
7900gt
535w enermax psu
dvd+-rw
antec p160w + lights :D
2gb ram
ect.
(NO MONITOR...i could probably ask him for a hefty discount on a 2005fpw or a 2007wfp (if he even knows about that lol))

What do you think?

gaming, and the usual stuff ;)

Ill be keeping this thing for a while (aka high school) and i dont want to be wanting a different rig because im not happy later with it.

yeah thats what i thought...but im just wondering if its worth it for the extra $

Well if you plan on gaming and don't wanna lug your lappy around school yeah get it... don't really need a lappy until college anyways.
