something is seriously wrong with my 4850 software

I've had this computer for a couple weeks, and it has been working fine until now. I decided to try out the ASUS Smartdoctor that came with my ASUS 4850. I have a P5Q pro, and it said that smartdoctor would interface with my EPU-6 engine.

After trying it out, it became apparent that there was nothing in the smartdoctor that CCC couldn't handle, and it ran on startup and added time, so I uninstalled it.

Since then, everything is seriously fucked up. Vista kicked aero off, said my hardware changed, and gave my aero performance and gaming graphics an experience score of 1.

The device manager says my display driver is 8.53, but CCC says it's the new 8.1. I have no idea what the fuck the problem is. Anyone have a clue?

I would remove the CCC and run Nasty File Remover to clean all the ATi stuff out. Then install a fresh set of drivers

Have you tried completely uninstalling the drivers and CCC and reinstalling them?
 
Alright, just reinstalled my driver / CCC, and things have gone back to normal. I hope they stay this way. I won't be installing any more ASUS shit, and I have a mind to get rid of this EPU-6 stuff.



Jesus Christ, how FUCKED is it that I install software that comes packaged with the card, and then it breaks?
 
Lol... When my friend built a PC for his parents about 1 month before he left for college, he used the CD it came with. Shortly after he left they called me since I helped him with the project to come fix some video issues. Any video that played using software overlay (WMP 9)
looked like the Gamma had been turned up max and was completely unwatchable. I had to install the Omega drivers to fix it. How sad is that I had to use hacked drivers to fix it?
BTW it was an ati x700
