Something I never put too much thought into.

I was reading some threads on another forum earlier this week. Some of the guys were stating that thier X800 XT and some XT pe cards was installed as X800 only after upgrading thier drivers. A couple of them was asking if it would make any difference if there was a way to match the drivers to the card. This I began fooling around with and low and behold, in the Cat drivers, all the different cards are listed seperately. So I began selecting the X800XT files to match my card. I finally did get the display properties to show X800 XT, the files were matched to my card. Today I decided to run a benchmark to see if there were any difference in performance between the different driver files.

These three links show the settings and hardware for thier scores. As you can see I am not OC'ed as high today, as I was earlier. Then the link shows the bench ran with my Radeon 9800 Pro. I think this is actually amazing, I never would have thought that just matching the files to the card would make this much difference. "Maybe I am being a little slow" over this, but no one has ever pointed this out to me. EVER, and I read a lot of reviews on several sites. Never have I read about doing this. Just a small attempt to enlighten someone else. Thanks BJ

I see one link

But I do want to know what you're getting at... Exlain again in dumber english please :D

Using the one link, you can select which bench you wish to compare by changing the date of the bench, check mark at the top of the program. I have I believe 4 different benchs saved and you can compare any of these to the last one.
