Something I got....supposed to be new.

Those of us that do not have a realredraider account (like me) cannot access it. Just do a copy and paste?

cant see it.

seriously how difficult is it to crtl + c and ctrl + v, you my friend may have surpassed the Dude for the laziest man alive.

........
I ordered an antique block from Performance-PCs, I realize(by normal computer time standards), but I paid full price, for what I expected to be a NEW EK 680i NB block. Now, I've never bought a new EK block before, but every block I've ever bought came with some protection for the base, and the base was generally pristine.

First thing was the box:
totally beat to shit, and the security tag was slit.....this is how I received it.

Now look at what was inside:

and here's my "brand new" shiny water block with some dumbass's fingerprint on the base

To contrast, here's a brand new Enzotech cooler I got today from Sidewinder:

This little block came plastic wrapped, suspended in foam and I could eat off the base.

Now I realize I've never had an EK block before, but something tells me that's not how EK ships their stuff.
Unfortunately, the evga board I fell into is old and I couldn't find anybody else who had a NB waterblock for this board. Honestly, I'm just goofing around with this project to test out a Exos modification I'm doing, BUT.......I have never received a "new" item that was in such shabby condition before.
I'd expect this out of an "open box" or "return".

I think I got some used piece of shit sold as new by those Performance guys, or it was a return or whatever the fuck. The ports don't look used and I can't see any evidence of water marks on the inside, but what do you think I could do?
The whole package and block look like shit, and like they've seen someone else before they came to my house.

Certainly doesn't look new, and the vendor could probably tell this easily by looking at the package. I'd remember that for future purchases, and if it's unusable to you, send it back for a refund. I'd go back to the purchase page and see if there was some hidden "refurb" or "open box" mention somewhere... even so, it's probably in too poor of condition to sell, given the scratches on the base.

Here's a lofty idea, have you contacted Hank about it?

He's a stand up guy, I'm sure he'd do a refund or something for you.

Wow.........I never thought of that.

Yes, I did.
I sent along my pictures and whatnot in an email last night.
Because this is an older board, and there aren't many blocks left around, I wanted to keep it.
Honestly the hassle of sending it back would cost more than the block is worth.

I was offered 30% off the part, which I accepted.

Am I disappointed with Performance? Not really. I've ordered hundreds if not nearly thousands of dollars worth of stuff from them over the years.
But.......this item was clearly a return which was sold as new and that does chap my ass a little bit.......says to me someone was trying to get away with something or just missed putting it in the "sale bin".
