I need affinity changer 1.0.4 and I can't get it without registering on that friggin Ukraine forum, which I can't figure out how to do.

It looks good, but I need Affinity Changer for the Dual-Core optimization (0-1-1-0 affinity) which increases PPD by a substantial amount.

You can change affinity in Task Manager however having tried that once or twice it does little to nothing.

If you were running dual smp linux clients under vmware then you can change and set affinity from within VM.

If you are concerned about seeing 4 cores in use using SMP on a dual core CPU that is normal, you are not losing performance.;)

I'm running a Core Duo 1.6GHz and I need to optimize it as much as possible so I don't miss deadlines. Affinity Changer makes sure processes 1 and 4 are on core 0, and that 2 and 3 are on core 1, which has been proven to be the most efficient method of setting affinity. I did set it in Windows task manager, but it tends to reset. Plus, it'd suck to have to change affinity every time I booted.

Doesn't anyone have this?

Doesn't that require an x64 processor? Mine doesn't support that (T2050)
 
The T2050 does not support Virtualization Technology, so that rules out running the VMware setup.
 
I can honestly say that I saw a small increase in PPD after installing affinity changer. I can't really give an exact number off the top of my head, but FaHMon showed a decrease in frame time and an increase in PPD. It's such a small program that it's not really going to hurt to try it out and see what happens.

The program relies on net2.0 or better and yes, I too saw a small increase. It’s also been my experience to never use a monitor program for anything more then “is the machine still running?) monitor. I tend to go by frame times read right off my screen.

In any event, with a dual core mobile processor at 1.6 running part time the Y man is still going to be hard pressed to hit deadlines on smp I believe.

Yacki, can you over clock that thing at all? That would make the biggest improvement for sure.

Unfortunately it's a mobile (and a Dell) so I can't overclock it at all. If I could do it I surely would. I'm pretty satisfied though, it's pushing 710PPD now which isn't too bad. I also have a 1.8 C2D at my dad's house (also a Dell) which I can't monitor at the moment...but it's running on notfred's CD and I think it's pulling about 800-900ppd. It should be done the first WU by midnight tonight.
 
Man, this thing really works. I picked up a couple hundred PPD on my Windows instances. I'm going to install it on my E6700 at work, too. Thanks!

I'm giving this a shot. My Windows boxes seem slower than they should be.
 
If you're talking about a xeon...probably not. I think it only supports one FAH instance. You should be using 4xVMWare clients anyway.
Sure, if you want to splurge for the FB-DIMM memory 4xVMWare clients will require. ;)
 
I installed affinity changer on my E6400 rig and got another 100PPD out of it. how well does this work on non core2duo dual core chips?
