This is really urgent-- I was testing a system and it has never gone any wrong for the past week. I had my outlet black cable pluglets wired in the middle of the room temporarily for testing purposes. I didn't have any other places to put it. The computer is just fine. The Hard Drive hasn't failed at all. But here's what happened. My friend accidently walked into the room and kicked the power plug out and abruptly it loses power. The case itself is in fine shape but just the plug got disconnected out of nowhere. Oh Sh*t! Well, after being pissy, I got it hooked up again and it can boot up fine. Except... TONS of ERRORS came up such as the DELAYED WRITE FAILURE messages coming up 15 times. I thought my hard drive must've lost a connection but it was actually just fine. Now some of my desktop icons are missing. Everything runs slowly. The PC looks fine as far as the naked eye could tell.
Just keep in mind that it can boot up smoothly but delayed write failure errors keep coming up. :-/
What is going on? Any help or any experience with this previously? Is anything damaged perhaps? What are the potential hardwares that could affect this? Could it be software related? The Windows XP installation was perfect. I had Doom 3 and every other game on it and it ran without a problem. Now this simple kick with abrupt power outage caused this whole delay write failure! I surely don't want to reinstall Windows XP considering it took me many man hours to tweak this PC to the fullest. :-/ Help.
