Ok here's my story:
I'm an ATI whore. The 9800 series stuff was proven for its time. Unfortunately, its time is up. Im with the many getting a new video card. It's between the x800pro and 6800gt. And i must say, im leaning majorly to the 6800gt because of the price and performance.
But here's the catch. I JUST built a 9800pro waterblock and i know it will fit on the new x800's, but does anyone know the dimensions of the new 6800 GPU's. I can afford to drill new holes in my block to allow for proper mounting of the block or i can construct a hold down mounting plate if needed. Below are a couple of pics of the block by itself, mounted, and the blue print of the block showing where i have room to drill and "create" to mounting holes to line up with the new 6800 Nvidia block.
Thx guys for the help.
As you can see on the GPU block, the holes can go and ONLY move "straight up and down" and not side to side because of the channels.
The *special* size of this GPU block is it's 2.5" x 2.0 inches (L x W) so thats quit a bit of "area" to allow the hoels to go up and down. Now, i haven't had a good "look" at the mounting holes on the new Nvidia cards, but i'm sure someone around here has and maybe even has some experience with my situation.
Blue print design: (notice the dark holes diagonal in teh corners, those are the mounting holes)
Thanks for the help guys, If i'm unclear please post and i will make clearer on what im trying to do.
