Hi

I am new to water cooling stuff and i am planning on building a new pc, my friend has a water cooling and i asked him for advice so he told me that i should get a 120.4 for the GPU and 120.3 or 120.2 for CPU.

and for the case he told me about caselabs, so i was sondering if a regular full tower will be ok with me and i will get alot of space, the space is what i worry about that is why he suggested the caselabs.

and btw i dont want to buy the kits, i want to build it custom so what i am wondering here is that do i really need 2 radiators for my loop?

here are the specs i will be buying for my new PC:

VGA: EVGA GTX 980 (for now i will get 1 only but later i will be doing SLI so total of 2 VGA)
CPU: Intel i7 5930K
Planning on overclocking both

I will water cool the VGA and CPU so i was wondering if i need 2 radiators or just 1 120.4 will be enough for gpu+cpu water cooling regarding if its 2 GPUs in SLI or 1 GPU only.

And also he suggested to install 2 pumps because i will be installing 2 radiators.

I want to know good custom components like radiators, pumps, water blocks that you recommend, i read a lot but most of the topics are old so that is why i asked you guys.

Thanks alot.

so what are your suggestions please.

Thanks.

I would recommend spending some time doing a lot of research, as that's what I did when I first got started. Nobody in their right mind is going to be able to sit here and type out all you need to know.

The more radiator you have, the cooler your temps will be, for the most part, so it sounds like your friend's recommendations are either close or spot on, in my opinion. If you try going with one 120.4 you might not be happy with the temps and that's before getting to SLI. Overlocking those components will be dumping tons of heat into the cooling system. If you have one good pump with enough pressure it should work fine with both radiators, but two lower end ones would work as well. That's if everything is going to be on a single loop, if it's dual loop you will have to have two pumps. Caselabs makes some rather top notch cases, but you will pay a premium for their products (as you can see from their online store http://www.caselabs-store.com).

A 120x4 is definitely enough to cool a CPU and 2 high end GPUs with either 1. low noise and moderately high temps (essentially silent, temps not much better than air cooling), or 2. moderate noise and low temps (quieter/as quiet as air cooling, temps much better than air cooling). A 120x4 for a single GPU is overkill. You do that when you want absolute highest overclocking while remaining essentially silent.

There are full tower cases capable of supporting large amounts of radiators. The NZXT Switch 810 is one of my favorite recommendations due to the relatively low cost and 140x3 + 120x2 radiator support natively. The Azza Genesis 9000 is capable of supporting a 120x4 and a 140x2, albeit with some squeezing and creativity. Corsair 900D (overrated and overpriced for what it is IMO), Coolermaster Cosmos 2, Phanteks Enthoo Primo, Coolermaster HAF series are all full tower cases that can support a decent amount of radiators. Caselabs is for when you want to go above and beyond "normal" watercooling.

Yes i am doing my research and trying to get as much information as possible.

I already own a HAF932 but the space is bothering me that is why i looked at caselabs, and regarding the radiator i might take one 120.4 and see how it will be doing with CPU+GPU overclocking and if the temps were high i might considering installing a 120.2 or 120.3 for the CPU alone.

It would be nice to hear more suggestions.

Thanks.
