system specs are as follows

gigabyte k8ns ultra-939
A64 3000+
2x512 OCZ PC3200 ram cl 2-3-2-5
stock cooling

1st problem, i was under the impression that this board had a PCI lock on it, but i can't find it (got the AGP lock and memory divider but no PCI)

2nd problem, i can only get the FSB up to 205mhz before it won't boot.

i have tried lowering my multplyer for the CPU down to 7, and my HT down to 4x from 5x with no luck, i just keep running into a brick wall at 205 mhz.

i also have the mobo swithced from 2T to 1T in the memory timings thing.

i havn't messed with the voltage yet and i have been doing some reading here and have seen some pretty decent overclocks with this proc (not sure on the mobo though and i think it may be my problem).

any suggestions :confused:
 
yea thats what was happening to me, you have to lower your latencys try 2.5-3-3-7

but even then I don't think you'll get too far, I hit a brick wall @ 226FSB and 11.5 Multipliyer.at those latencys.
 
that was what i was starting to think (figured it was either my ram that was causing me to hit a brick wall, or my motherboard (or a combination of both)

i will play around with it some more.

Set your CPU voltage (vcore) to 1.6 or 1.7. Set your RAM voltage (vdimm) to 2.8. Set your timings at 2.5-4-3-10, these are nominal for an overclocked Athlon 64 with your particular RAM.

Couple of questions, do you have the latest BIOS version? AGP/PCI lock issues can be fixed in newer BIOS revisions. How is the cooling in your case?
 
i have two intake and two exhaust fans, and the latest bios (released just over a week ago) the lock that i can find works, just can't seem to find if my motherboard has a PCI lock (all i can find is an AGP lock)
