Some Newb LCD questions

I am thinking of purchasing a new LCD I was wondering about

1) Are powerful videocards needed or more helpful

2) Items used in cleaning the LCD screen

3) Do you leave yours on ? Or turn it off every chance you get ?

Not really, games should be run at the optimal resolution so just make sure whatever video card you have can run games at the optimal resolution the monitor displays at and that the card has a DVI plug.

2) Items used in cleaning the LCD screen

Lint free cloth's such as the ones you use to clean eye glasses work well, just avoid anything that could be abrasive or corrosive to plastics like alcohol.

3) Do you leave yours on ? Or turn it off every chance you get ?

I plan on putting it into stand-by every 1hr that I'm away from my PC. I do the same with my CRT.

For general viewing, one vid card might ouput a better image. However, with modern cards, this is really not a concern as they all typically have good output image quality. For stuff like gaming, above poster has got it.

2) Items used in cleaning the LCD screen
I use a microfiber cloth on all my monitors. If there's something stubborn I use a slightly moistened cloth first, then dry it

3) Do you leave yours on ? Or turn it off every chance you get ?
mostly standby, like above poster. My CRT goes into power save mode after 10 minutes of inactivity, my LCD after 5 minutes.
