Ok heres my problem i just build this system (asus p6x58d mobo, Corsair dominator 6gb, corsair hx950 PSU, xfx 5870 xxx ed) Whenever i try to play a game ( WoW, Cod MW, BFBC2) it will either play for a min an start messing up an i will get a screen of lines or it wont even load into the game. I have watched the temps an have yet to see them go over 50c on the gpu, 65c on the cpu. This is a fresh install of win 7 ultimate 64bit. I am stumped any ideas? Thanks alot!

update drivers and look into a possible firmware update (for the XFX), i think this a known issue with 5870 cards and win 7.

its part of the GSOD problem but it was been fixed.

Could be a few things. It would help out a lot if you had a backup card or PSU to switch out to test with as those would be the first things I would look at.

Before I start switching hardware though, I would try to completely uninstall your card drivers (run driver sweeper/cleaner) and try again with the same or maybe an older set (I assume you're using the newest drivers available by AMD/ATI?).

I have tried a different PSU an HD had them same affect. This is also the second clean install i have tried with of course the latest drivers.
