Some HAF 932 questions

Now that I've chosen this case, I have a question or two about it.

First off, can the red LED of the front fan be disabled? I have to say a red light shining at me would be extremely irritating.

Also, I understand there are 2 PSU bays in it - I have a Seasonic 700W modular PSU - I assume I would have no issues with cable length in this case?

Thanks :)

Just change out the front fan... buy a better fan for it. Or you can probably cut off the leds from the fan. Or switch it out with one of the rear fans... and this will give a nice rear glow.

On the HAF922 (smaller version) they added a button and plug to disable the fan LED.

I bought a 2nd 200mm fan for the side-panel but I'll have to splice into that cable to get the LED to work right. Either way it's still a cool feature.

I've been impressed so far with the HAF's build quality and everything else... it's not a LianLi but it was more than I expected.

I was under the impression you couldn't get new fans? The cutting of the fan LED is quite feasible though. Having a red UFO glowing at all times is a bit off putting.

It's been dispatched today so I'll receive it within about 5 working days.

At the very worse at least if by default it doesn't help reduce my GTX temps, it will afford me the space I need for the Acceloros which definitely will.

No way it moves enough air with the stock fans...My temps jumped a few degrees but after ditching 2 of the 230's and the 1 140 and replacing with 6 120's (1800rpm) they seem to have dropped a bit and also my room no longer hits 90F (room temp 80-85) when the PC is on, Ah sometimes I never miss my old case

The HAF 932 includes a motherboard cable extension also so you wont have any problems with the 24 pin cable. The 230mms spin at 700RPM and are 110cfm. This is great for airflow, but once you put alot of resistance and cables in the chassis the lack of higher air pressure might not cool as well as 6 powerful 120mms with high static pressure.

Its a toss up, if you can cable manage and have less components, stick with stock cooling. If you have a messy cabling and a multi SLI configuration go with additional 120mm high performance fans like Cooler Master R4 series red led 90cfm fans. Those 120mms will make more noise than the 230mms though.

This* case seems fairly good. I'd like to add a question if I could. I like how clean my components are in my Antec P180 because of the air filters.

From the looks of the HAF 932 it should be nicknamed The Duster.

Is that the case? Do your components get pretty dusty quickly?

Without filters it does indeed get dusty. But a few cuts of air filters from home depot fixed that situation. Just cut a few squares and place behind the front plate where the coolermaster logo is. Then some little squares cut out and placed inside the drive bay covers. Also a few blasts of dust off every day doesnt hurt. I have a 30$ rechargeable dust blower that works real well.

Problem #23 has been encountered...

I set it all up today, and discovered that I'll have to drill a hole in the case in order to fit my 2nd GTX in the 3rd PCI-E slot, because the bracket is blocked by the case chassis.

However, something I completely forgot to ask is what is the difference in speed, if any, between PCI-E 16 and PCI-E 8?

The bottom PCI-E slot on the EX58 which I'm trying to use is 8x, and I can't find any comparisons between the two, certainly not with my card anyway.

If there's a significant loss of speed between the two I'm as well returning the case because it would be no use to me.
