Some General Questions about new pc

Hi never posted around these parts but you guys seem to know a lot about pc's. I just recieved my AMD 3200+ combo from TigerDirect a few days ago and was wondering about a few things. First off this is my first computer i'm building from scratch, and a few parts from my computer a friend built for me.

I have Yeong Yang Server Cube unfortunatly mine doesnt have the 92mm side fan which would have been nice. I had a really hot AMD Xp 1600 in the system and using all fans and what not didnt seem to help the heat. So it finally died on me.

I think it also has something to do with the fact that the psu which has three fans on it fried something in my computer since the fan that points to the bottom (psu lays on the bottom unlike most cases, so the bottom fan sucks all the crap up from the bottom of the case) of psu.

I was wondering if this case would still be good or if i should maybe buy a new case. I've been looking into Aspire Xdreamer 2 but i dont want the PSU that comes with it. I want to get Aspires 520watt PSU as i heard it was pretty good. Does anyone know where i can get that PSU and case together instead of buying the Case with that 300watt PSU.

Also one more question about the combo. Can i use my two sticks of 512mb samsung PC 2100 ram till i can get some DDR 400?

Another question what is the best OEM DVD-+R/RW drive?
And does anyone know where you can get a cheap black Audigy faceplate?

That case is alright, but if you want a new case that's smaller and will prolly run cool check out the coolermaster praetorian series or lian li pc65 or if you want a tower lian li pc-75. All aluminum, light, good build quality, and they don't come with power supplies.

As for the aspire 520w psu, I am not sure who oem's them. If it is the FSP group you'll be alright, but I can tell you for a fact that there are better choices for that price. If you're dead set on a new psu I would go for the Fortron 530w psu. If you have no budget to spend and can spring for the absolute best budget be damned psu go for the pc power and cooling 510 deluxe. That should last you until BTX takes over (like 2007).

About the ram, that ram would severley handicap the system as you would have to underclock your computer to get it down to 2100 speeds (unless its premium pc2100 and can pull pc3200 speeds overclocked with some volts).

For the best oem dvd-rw drive, do you want dual layer or not? If so, the sony dru700 series I believe (there's also a good nec one) and if not, Plextor makes a 12x dvd burnere in both sata and pata flavors that you may be able to find oem
