some games are going way too fast

I've just installed GTA:SA and NFS:MW and both games are going faster than they should. On need for speed it says I'm getting about 40fps but the game is going too fast to even control. On Grand theft auto san andreas I'm just getting about 50-60fps and my guy runs 100mph lol everything is running really fast. Does anyone know why it's doing this? also these are the only 2 games that do it. Test drive unlimited, and guitar hero 3 both run perfectly.
 
There are hotfixes from microsoft and AMD for dual-core gaming performance. Make sure you have them installed and try again.,
 
Went to AMD's website and downloaded the dual core optimizer and it worked perfect ! Thank you very much. I would have never thought of that lol.
