So I saw the headline in the [H] main page about samsung introducing a 64gig SSD. When we will be seeing these on the market? According to that article, its going to be mass produced in Q2 of this year but arnt some other models being produced now and we still have yet to see them? Im just wondering thats all as we keep hearing about them and some of the models being produced and yet to see them.

The Samsung is id getting attention only because it's a 1.8 inch form factor drive. Other manufacturers are up to 128GB in 2.5 inch housings.

definitely alot faster than Raptor hard drives.

So theoretically I could get one of these to use as my "hard drive" for my desktop and put my OS and apps on it?

That sounds about right, though I seriously doubt they will be affordable for most of us just yet...

These drives are out and are availible to oems. The drive option is $1,800 for a 32gig at the moment (could be the 64gig).

- how much does one those go for?
- more than you can afford pal!

Lol, you must of missed a post like a day before that where samsung was cited to expect system memory to come down and price and nand flash memory to go up in price this year, guess what that 64gig SSD is built with..................yep, the nand flash memory!
