Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you knew of a good PSU for an Athlon 64 3200+ (clawhammer). I plan to overclock it to 3400+ speeds. I'm looking for at least 18 amps on the +12 volt line, and where thats concerned, the more the better. I'm looking for it to be in the 400 watt range. Can some one point me in the direction of one that is in the 80 dollar price range? Or are they more expensive than I'm thinking?

Right now, the Enermax Noisetaker 470 is looking mighty nice. Newegg has them for 79 right now, and they've got a total of 32a on the +12v split across two 16a rails. Also, they are 24-pin with a PCI-E connector, so they're pretty future proof as well. Otherwise, an Fotron 550 EPS would be good for future-proofness in that price range.

I looked at the the one you told me. where does it say that i has 2 equal +12 rails? it just says they're split.

what about this one ?

Vertigo's two recommendations have a lot better reputation than the butterfly 480w which seems to get a small but steady flow of complaints.

I wouldn't recommend a refurbished power supply for obvious reasons (Newegg doesn't test refurbished products.). But definately get either the Enermax NoiseTaker or Fortron.
