Hi I was going to get started on a new build & need a new case that can stand some kicking and bumping & won't fall apart.

Doesn't have to have all the bells and whistles & don't need above average cooling 1 or 2 fans would be sufficient.

My budget is $150. Can someone recommend a good solid case for me?

** Altho my reasons are I love the position of the motherboard. I was even contemplating buying and modding a Lian Li A05 and see if I could take out the drive bays and fit a Micro ATX motherboard tray through the top in a fashion similar to this case. Considering the trouble and expense... I am thinking it would be better to just buy the case already setup that way hehe.
 
I have to ask, but why are you kicking your computer? :) The internal components would be a bigger concern of mine if the case has to actually handle abuse...
 
The RV-02 is cheaper at Amazon. Same overall price, but free shipping as opposed to $20 from the egg.

agreed, maybe you should look at a case that has an integrated card carrier / holder like a lot of the lian lis had a couple years ago that were adjustable
 
Well it's not for me it's for my two teenage girls. They are currently running at Coolermaster Elite 330 and it's a screwless design. Yesterday they called me downstairs and apparently they partially unhooked the video card from it's socket trying to get the display to work. Thing is they don't know how to open the case but they were pulling on the vga cable. The power button is mashed in from too much work. This case is only a year old and has been abused.

That's why I need something that's very solid and yes I do think I want a case with screws. Don't need bells and whistles just something solid and can take teenage torture. LOL
 
Thanks for the recommendation bloop but I see the case is screwless. I'm wondering could I override that & I see the powerbutton is behind the door.

The Coolermaster I have now I could bypass the screwless design & put screws in the drive bays but it's worthless to me because of the cheap design.

most of the time you can use screws in a screwless design. it should be this way with the gigabyte, it originally used screws, then converted a few years later, on the same chassis.
 
If you can find it, one of these will do nicely. Usually see 'em go for around $80, and its like a miniature bunker for your hardware.

Dam that's a mighty tough looking case but looks to be built like a tank. Has plenty of room inside for anything.

The Antec 300 looks like a nice case too with good cooling and space.

What about the Antec 900?

I think I'll get this, it looks like it's gonna be a beast. Hell I might just throw my stuff in it and use my old Thermaltake for my girls computer. That case looks to have decent cooling & for my upgrade I'll be doing soon I'll need that.
