So, my old 8RDA+ dieid today after 3 years of faithful service, any ideas for solid AXP (266fsb) boards, maybe with a few overclocking options, but not neccesary cos itll only be getting value ram, All the money is being poured into my new A64 3200, so that should net me a good ppd increase. A shame it had to do it at like 40% on a 600 pointer, ill have to hope i can get that back.

I <3 my old Epox 8RDA3+. It replaced an 8RDA+ that I had modded the NB Voltage... Active cooled NB and passive cooled SB left my XP-1700 @ 2.2ghz easy, then the xp-m 2500 after went 2.5ghz before my memory wouldn't take any more. Finally it died one day... I miss that board.

Anyway, if you liked your 8RDA+ then you will love the 8RDA3+, they're pretty much the same board.

If you replace the bad one with the same type board or very simillar you might be able to continue that wu. See if you can get one with the same chipset and at least give it a try anyway.

Its not gonna be as simple as copying the work directoryover from the old machine and sticking it on the new athlon 64 when it gets here? Will it restart or just throw whats done back to stanford? I didnt think it mattered about the cpu, iv had units on my pen drive that ive swapped between p4s and axps with no hiccups.

I've always just taken the folder off my main rig, saved it somewhere and then just run a blank console to reset the reg settings and replaced the files... It's seemed to work for me numerous times, even going between completely different spec rigs.

i have switched between the A64 I have here and the P4 northwoods we have in the labs without any problems.
