Hi,

I was wondering if anybody knew the best kind of solder I should use in soldering power supply cables. I'm fairly new to soldering in that I don't know much about it but I've used it quite a lot in the past. The thing is I've just stuck with what I bought and I have no idea if there are different types of solders for different types of applications and what not. I'm not even sure there are types more suited, but I just want to be sure (i was thinking some are more conductive than others or something :D).

Thanks

I use clear-flux thin gauge wire for electronics that I pick up at the Shack. It's really cheap, but seriously, it doesn't really matter what kind of solder you use, as long as it's not acid-core.

oh, and all solder has pretty much the same conductance. Just make sure you tin both ends that you're soldering together before you join the 2 to each other, it makes it 10x easier, and looks better when you're done.

Sheldron is right--it doesn't really matter what kind you use, as long as you use the proper technique.
