Solasta 2

Will definitely be getting this. First game was a surprisingly fun co-op experience.

Demo is out surprisingly today but no word on final release. The first game had a demo for 1-2 years before it went gold.

Took a dive played a few minutes this game is more immersive than Baldur's Gate 3 no weird stuff going on like Mind Flayers at the start.
I guess the Demo isn't included in the base game two separate games. I have so many isometric RPGs games installed I dedicated a 2TB SSD for them.

Wishlisted, though I will wait for stability and reviews.

I suppose I should try the first one, which I bought on sale but never tried yet. One of these days....

The first game was surprisingly fun. I played co-op with my friend and we really enjoyed the turn based combat and gameplay. Looks like they have improved the graphics quite a bit.

Played like 45 minutes it's ok but the Combat is kinda tedious but it might be streamlined down the road playing with a controller. I had a black screen crash the 1st time I booted up but also had a black screen crash during Atomic Heart that I looked into the latest Nvidia Drivers I guess the 572.47 drivers are working for me so far. The pervious set I had problems with but looking into Reddit posts alot of 50XX series users are having to use 566.00 driver for their current cards to even work along with 30XX and 40XX users. I also had a black screen crash with Atomic Heart last week while the music was still playing behind the black screen.

Out in a few weeks but it's only going to be EA which the last game lasted like 1-2 years.

Game was 27.00 on Loaded.com picked up that version the thing is alot of the crashes seem to happen on HDD drives the game recommeds a SSD drive it says in the specs.
Also alot of the crashes were on Older Ryzen CPUs 5000 series. There wasn't enough negative reviews forcing me not to buy the game I checked it out.

Hello there folks, Myzzrym here!

It’s now been about 24h since Solasta II launched in Early Access, and although this might seem a bit early, we want to thank you for all the feedback you’ve sent our way already. We’ve always committed to being as proactive and transparent as possible in our communication, and it’s not about to change now!

Reading through the various Steam reviews, we’ve identified a few pain points - and as with any good Early Access, we’re going to tackle them!

Character Creator

You’ve said it, we’ve seen it - the Character Creator is not working as well as we hoped it would!

First, the selection of presets is just too limited. This is something we want to address, notably by adding more presets and spending more time crafting them - truth be told, we did make the (wrong) assumption that most people would customize their character from scratch, so we did not give our presets the love they deserved.

Second, the Character Creator tool is a bit overcomplicated. You get to play around morphing different faces, which can be pretty fun but can make it fairly difficult to get the result you want. On top of that, some options might be lacking, like not having enough haircuts among others (we’re working on it!).

The third and final issue is that we don’t have enough body shapes. Even if you were to create a nice face, your gigachad 18 STR Fighter would end up with the same body shape as your sickly 8 CON Wizard. On top of that, there’s currently a bug with the male body shape’s chest being awkwardly misplaced, which we are working to fix.

So, what now? Well, we’re going to work on improving the Character Creator in order to address all of these issues. We can’t exactly tell you when these changes will come out, some may roll out in the coming weeks, others may take longer, but we’re committed to it! After all that’s also what Early Access is for, and we thank you all for your constructive feedback - keep them coming.

Crashes & Instabilities

Some of you are running into tech issues, which is very common in Early Access titles. We’re currently fixing crashes as we find them, but if you find yourself unable to play make sure you check out our Support website, especially the articles about the game not starting and Intel CPU crashes. If none of those correspond to your issues, send us a ticket through the system and let us know your config, it will help getting to the bottom of it.

We’re also rolling out a beta branch with an upcoming version which should fix quite a few additional crashes & bugs, you can try and switch to that build in case you’re having too many issues when playing or can’t start the game. Simply right click Solasta II in your Steam Library => Properties and then go to Game Versions & Betas and select the beta branch.

As always we are on this adventure together, so take a seat and tell us what you think!

It would be shocking if hdd vs ssd caused crashes - it is hard for me to imagine how such a thing could occur. Now performance issues would be another matter - actually if the code hard async presumption of load time i suppose it could crash but it would be insanely bad coding (i.e, issue request to load something from disk - do some other stuff and presume at some point in the future the load request completed without checking).

Now given all the divergant in cpu instructions that is more believeable to be an issue. also sloppy threading can easily cause a crash. I sitll remember code reviewing some threaded code where the two threads did not lock shared data and the coder insisting it didn't matter since the code (at that time) was running on a uni-processor. Of course a year later dual-core processors came out.....

Finally had some time to play this I had to slow down the Camera Zoom it's pretty fast. This game is basically Baldur's Gate 3 with a more interactive enviroment. The Demo that came out a year ago wasn't this good movement is alot better but the you need an Art degree for the camera. At least it has controller support.

This game is so good looking too bad the camera Pans are on Rails but I think the original Demo you could 360 the whole game.
