My friend gave me a SoHoWare Netblaster NCP600 wireless access point. It was free, so I hate to complain, but it seems overly plug-and-play, in that by default it shares your entire network and net connection unencrypted and unpassworded. All I had to do was double click the connection, and I was on.

There's software to change it, but it only seems to work if you're using their brand of wireless card. And I'm not. There's rumor of a firmware upgrade that enables 128 WEP, but I can't find it anywhere.

Does anyone have any good news for me, or is this security nightmare permanent?
 
No one? I'm running a completely unsecured wireless connection here, surely someone can help me out...
