Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thanks. It’s a Nexus N3K-C3048TP-1GE 48P 1GbE 4P SFP+ Switch. Yeah, I had read Cisco will provide security patches for free, but that doesn’t seem to be the case, I don’t have a service contract, unfortunately…
You should really get a service contract. If not be careful to go through the documentation and make sure you take the right firmware upgrade path, as directly updating to the latest version could potentially brick your switch. Good luck finding the files if you choose to not get a contract.
Thanks for the heads up. Yeah, I was trying to save a few bucks…a fully updated one on eBay is around $150 so not sure if a service contract makes sense.
From what I can gather, I first need to update to Release 6.0(2)U6(10) and then to the most recent 9.3 release.
