Software RAID questions RE upgrading

Right now I'm using Windows 7 software RAID since I've found my current motherboard's hardware RAID to be unreliable. It's a single RAID0 striped volume between 2 250GB partitions. I'm upgrading from my current Phenom II-based system to a new Sandy Bridge setup. Is it possible to avoid re-installing the OS? If not, does anybody know if Windows-based software RAIDs will be recognized after an OS re-install in the disk manager? I've had a lot of experience with Areca RAID and Linux software RAID, but this is the first time I've ever done something with Windows software RAID.

I am fairly sure you will have to reinstall Windows if you switch to a new MOBO, and especially if you go from AMD to Intel.

Whether the Raid will still work, I don't know. You would think it would, but I can't say for sure.

If you have a friend with Windows installed, move the drives to that system and see if you can mount them.

it won't come up with it automatically, but you can reassemble them done it before.
